I have power to the unit but no power to the motor

How good are you at electronic? If you are - try finding a repair manual / schematic for your deck, and start troubleshooting.

If not, you have two options:
- find a repair shop willing to fix 40-years old electronics, for which no spare parts are available. I would assume it will cost at least $100, just for looking.
- move over, and get new cassette deck.
