Question I installed a new SSD so why is my entire computer going slower than before?

I had a 500 gb ssd so I decided to upgrade to a terabyte but now my computer is running way slower than before. I originally tried cloning my old ssd to my new one but that did not work so I wiped the new one and installed a fresh version of windows 11 to the new drive. Though now everything is running incredibly slow and playing even the most simplest games at low settings cause it to chug massively. If I swap out the ssd to the old one everything goes back to normal and everything runs fine. Any ideas?
