i keep getting strange text messages from vtext.com asking for my debit card info is it safe?

IF you do not give info, you are fine.

Do not give ANY info over texts to ANYONE.

No bank will EVER text you to ask info.

Call your provider and see if you can block them or report it.

If you have given ANY info, contact your bank and get new cards right away.
