I need Advice about getting a laptop from America to use in the UK

Is it safe to buy a laptop from america, and then either changing the charger to a UK one or buying an adapter or will voltage be a problem and will it break.

Hi
At the most you may need to change the charger but most chargers will operate from 100-240V so a good chance you will not even have to do that and just use a plug adaptor.
