I got a new 50" Magnavox LED TV (Model No.50m314x/f7), I also have a old Durabrand home theater system that I have used for along time that just uses RCA's(no Optical plug in). My question is how do I get the surround system to work with the TV? Idk if the RCA'S are broken or if there's a selection in the TV menu that I need to switch?

Solution
According the specs on the TV is should have a coax digital audio out which is an orange RCA jack where your picture shows a yellow RCA jack. If it is marked as digital audio out then you will need a DAC like this one
http://www.parts-express.com/parts-express-dac-digital-to-analog-converter-(51-compatible)--180-999
Your other option is if the TV has an HDMI input labled ARC then you can connect one of these to it
https://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Extractor-Support-Converter-VHD-H2HARC/dp/B00LKF6CPG
and turn the ARC on in the TV set up menu.
Both of these will provide a fixed analog output that you can connect to your HTS.
