I replaced my hard drive on a HP 2000 . And misplaced my p

Do you have a recovery disc with your HP 2000? If you do, just boot it up and it should install whatever OS it was factory shipped with, no need for to type product key.

You will need your OS KEY on some occasions.

You will need the key for activation if you do not have the original disks and use a Retail version of the OS to load it.
