I saw 104 movies in theaters in 2024 — here's the 10 best and 10 worst

Kinds Of Kindness was a best of 2024? Seriously? I found it so bad that I walked out of it. I've seen over 100 films this year and I considered it the absolute worst, by far. Avant garde bullshit. Or triple trash, to borrow from Three Amigos.

Like you, I am a huge Alien franchise fan, and although I have my favourites, I haven't been disappointed by one... until Romulus.

'Alien: Romulus' was inarguably, for me, the worst in the Alien ennealogy. I gave it 4 out of 10.

The characters were WAY too young - maybe they were targeting a youth audience, forgetting that some of us have been watching since 1979.

I didn’t see any fresh twists, and there was not one likeable character, or… not even not likeable, but just interesting... even UNlikeable.

I have watched the other seven from three to eight times each; I won’t be giving this one another run. It was, sadly, just lacking ANY redeeming features, and there were too many cringe moments - "Get away from her, you bitch" - seriously?

Challengers!? One of the best? Really? Sorry, I disagree. IMO, I couldn't help but think what an overall mess this movie was; factor that along with the continuous & confusing time jumps that would give most viewers whiplash! To make matters worse, the obvious moral ambiguity & each characters ultimate motivation was unclear, and then finally was the fact that all three of the main characters were so unlikeable that you really didn't care what happens to them in the end. All that said, I suspect that if you are a big Zendaya fan, you may at least enjoy her performance in a different kind of story that you may not have seen her in before.
