Not reviewing the Tesla M3 has got to be the an act of journalistic malfeasance. You say you didn't get a chance to test it out - I simply don't believe you. There are Tesla showrooms around the country - you can schedule a test drive within a few days. You simply chose not to.

I test drove the Ioniq and the Kona and the M3 was hands down far superior and cheaper.

Of the more than 25 EVs that I've personally tested this year, only a handful are ones that most people could realistically afford.

I considered a Hyundai Ioniq 5 before buying my Ford Escape PHEV. Why did I not get the Ioniq? Based on my son-in-laws experience with his Elantra, the reason Hyundai's warranty goes to 100K miles is because after that the engine dies, croaks, blows-up, name-your-verb. Secondly, the dealer would even let me look at an Ionic 6. Thirdly, my wife & I both thought there was something off with the vehicle, although we couldn't put our respective finger on what it was. Lastly, as we keep our vehicles for 10+ years on average, an all electric just didn't make sense. Look at the new Lucid Gravity for the advances in just a couple years, and the research being done on Large-Footprint Lithium Ceramic Batteries, Solid-state batteries, LiS batteries, and Bi-polar batteries to name a few.
Now if I could just the same range in December that I got in August on my Escape.
