The dynamic range example doesn't really showcase the argument proposed. Much more details are present in the shadows of example as show... I mean dynamic range is graduation between darkest and brightest parts of a scene...

In daylight photos, both phones are nearly identical. In fact, I prefer the Pixel 6 Pro's cooler tone. However, when it comes to selfies and night photos, the Pixel 8a, a mid-range phone, outperforms the Pixel 6 Pro, a former flagship.
I own the Pixel 6 Pro, and its Night Sight photos are underwhelming in low-light conditions. I recently tried the iPhone 15 Pro and was amazed by its night photos. They were incredible; I could even faintly see details in pitch-black environments. I eagerly await Pixel 9 reviews before upgrading because the Pixel 6 Pro's night photos are simply not good enough and have excessive glare.
