I have a highend gaming pc and my mom wants me to get something portable to do homework on like a laptop or surface. I have about 700 bucks to spend. What should i get?

what i would suggest is to google top laptops/student laptop 2014 or and find something you like, I'm not sure what your going to use it for but if its not much other then reports and presentations a asus zenbook from the reviews might do the job.
