I Want Orbit Downloader to Continue Download Processes After the Computer Starts

As per the Orbit Downloader’s default configuration, you are manually required to resume all the downloading processes after the computer starts. This means that if you shut down your computer while any downloading process is in progress, the downloading stops before the computer finally gets turned off. After this, when you start the computer, the downloading process does not resume on its own, and in order to continue with the process, manual intervention is required.

The above discussed configuration has been set as default by the developers in order to prevent the consumption of additional Internet bandwidth that would be eaten up if the downloading process starts automatically. Since manual intervention is needed in order to resume the download processes, users can choose the objects that are to be downloaded after starting up the computer. In case they do not want any particular object to continue downloading, they can leave the process in its idle state, and can work on it later on.

Enabling or disabling this feature solely depends on your personal and individual preferences, and your configuration of the Orbit Downloader might be totally different than that of your friend’s application. As the best practice, if you have decent Internet bandwidth speed and if you are not at all worried about the bandwidth consumption, you can enable the auto resume feature on your instance of Orbit Downloader program.

After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to allow the Orbit Downloader to automatically resume the downloading processes after the computer starts.

Here is what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.

■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.

■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.

■From the displayed context menu, go to Preferences.

■Shut down the computer while the download process is in progress.

■Start the computer after some time.

■The download process should resume from where it was left after the computer starts.

Note: While doing this configuration, make sure that your instance of Orbit Downloader is configured to automatically initialize during Windows startup.
