I won’t be upgrading to Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra — here’s why

I've had a few cheaper Samsung phones (and one dud TV). My Samsung phones had too much bloat. What caught my eye was the 5-6 OS updates and I was almost roped in until I compaired my Motorola to their offerings. Mine is not a new phone and I own it, theirs offered little or no improvement at a steep price considering how I use it. The industry has been doing very well selling phones that become "outdated" almost instantly after purchase, nothing new and so what. If Samsung has broken that mold (thank you) others will follow. Unless you absolutely need a new phone yesterday, wait. Selection, features, performance and pricing can only get better.

I've had the S25 Ultra for a couple days now - upgraded from the S24 Ultra (which was my favorite phone in a long time). Would I pay $1300 to upgrade from S24U to S25U? No. But with the trade-in deal I paid ~$400 for this phone. Worth every penny. Best phone on the market!

Is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra worth upgrading to? Honestly, I don't think it is.

At 69 years of age and someone who started work in the Bank8ng industry we had no computer, desktop or laptops, no smart phones or tablets. & survived 40 years in the industry & took up the advantage of technology very well. It gave me the ability to understand the changes that technology has given us from manually calculating bank interest on 5000 passbook accounts that basically took twelve months to complete before Customers got there hard earned interest, to today someone pushes a button on 30th June & interest is credited to the account.
Now for phones, I am a telsta client & started with an S21 phone way back, prior to that didn't have a phone, went to phone box on corner or at home.
Received my Galaxy S25 Ultra 512Gb yesterday, upgrade from S23 Ultra, somehow missed S24 Ultra. Free upgrade from Telstra plus wiped out phone debt of $635.
New contract at 36 months with total cost around $2890 plus insurance.
Have dropped my plan back to $65/month from $99 as I have organised NBN Fixed Wireless via Activ8me, I am in the NT & Telstra couldn't satisfy the NBN Fixed Wireless, I needed cable or a satellite dish. In due course will payout my telstra contract & just rely on using internet for my phone calls, via Wifi calling.
Had phone one day & all is working fantastic, reset up phone manually, don't like transferring/coping from old phone.
Initially have turned off Ai, dont need it initally, have taken few photos at different zoom lengths & they look fantastic. Overall phone looks great, easy to use apps etc, comfortable to handle. Finally got the ability to have photos taken on the S25 Ultra, to be saved onto my Samsung A9a Tablet, not sure how I did it, also all my notes are also saved into both units.
So from a pure amateur I recommend the phone & can't believe so many people have trashed it.
