I want advice on which one i should buy.... i3 4th gen or i5 5th gen?
No doubt i5 would be better but i5 one costs $140 more.Is it worth.
I want laptop only for college purposes.

Solution
i3 should be enough for college purposes.
For a laptop you want the best battery life for everyday use.
Most of the time the CPU is idle waiting for user input.
Go for the i3 for affordability and the i5 if you don't mind paying for extra performance.

Actually, no. The Broadwell U-series i5s (with the i5-5200u being the most common) are about equivalent to a little bit faster than the i3 M-series Haswells. And much more power-efficient and cooler to boot.

I would say that i3m vs i5-5200u, the price increase is not worth it.

i3-4030Y/U vs i5-5200u - heck yes.
