If start dell laptop only showing dell when start

hi when i start Dell Inspron 1420 laptop it is showing just dell blue symbol and progress bar not moving and strucked there please help me what should i do now???

Try to get into the BIOS screens and see if the hard drive is recognised.

Did the machine work before -- have you added memory or made any other change since then.
