If you install 2 anti-virus software programs, is that extra-protection or do they conflict causing problems?

Is it advisable to use more than one anti-virus protection program simultaneously on the same computer?

It'll cause problems. Anti-virus programs work by doing things that may look like virus activity to another anti-virus program, like messing with or deleting files, infected files usually, but the other anti-virus program won't be able to make that distinction.

Basically, you'll end up with two anti-virus programs that'll declare each other to be viruses and they'll fight to the death :)
