I'm really dumb, question about receiver and speakers

Hello, I really feel dumb posting here because I'm sure everyone else knows info like this. What I'm wondering is, I have the Pioneer VSX-1022-K. Right now I have some speakers hooked up, I think they're Insignia (?), small little speakers up front, with a center channel.

When I move into my new house, I plan to take advantage of the 7.1 channels. I was thinking of using 4 of these speakers for the surrounds, and want some type of floor speakers for the fronts. Is this unit powerful enough for some floor speakers? And if I get floor speakers, which are obviously bigger than what I have now, do I need to get a different center channel?

Yes, that reciever will run two larger speakers with no issues. No need to chance the center channel. The sound won't be great quality with different speakers not made to work with each other but will be OK.

I think the center chanel is most important to be same line as the two front chanel speakers.
This center is for talk voice. And if it is not pair with frnt ones then this will sound odd.
Good sub is what you need too. If you do not have one yet.

And 5.1 is enough. Good 5.1 is better than cheap 7.1
