im trying to connect my samsung dvd/bluray player to my rca tv no picture or sound

I have a dvd/blu ray player. I have the hdmi cord, BUT I can't get a picture or sound

Are you changing the TV to the right input? Try a different HDMI input on the TV? Different cable? Test with another TV to make sure the player works?
