Improving graphics quality

After owning my laptop for about 18 months, I'm trying to squeeze out a better graphics quality for playing games. In particular, I'd like to try to raise the fps since I'm rarely steadily above 15. My specs are as follows:

Intel Core Duo T5550 1.83 GHz
167 GB HD
2 GB RAM
SiS Mirage 3 Graphics

I would be willing to replace the graphics card (I know it is sub-par) if I could find someone to fit it, how normal is this? Is there anything else I can do besides updating drivers? Thanks for any help!

Replacing the GPU in laptops is a very rare occurrence, very few laptops even have the ability to have it done. You would have to contact the manufacturer and see if it's possible.

You can also try and overclock the card, but I have no idea what utilities will actually work with an SiS card (I've never used one). Even if you can manage to OC the card, you are probably only looking at a few FPS increase at best.

For OC utilities, look at:

But I have a feeling SiS cards aren't supported.
