Indoor Antenna Improvements

We watch comparatively little TV (about 10-12 Hours / week) and we'd like to get rid of cable. I tried an indoor antenna a few years ago and got nothing but static. While we are less than 20 miles from most broadcast TV antennas were told we are on the wrong side of a hill in our city. I'd like to avoid an outdoor digital antenna for both aesthetic and wiring issues. Have indoor antennas improve enough over the past two or three years to try again?

If there is a hill in between the broadcast tower and you it might require a tower to get the antenna high enough to see a signal. You can check with channelmaster.com or winegard.com about what type of antenna might work.
An alternative is one of the internet streaming services. They may not have your local channels though.

I live in the boonies and I have used a lot of different antennas and I haven't noticed the newer indoor antennas to be any better than the old ones.

The only way to go for me is an outdoor antenna...which I do and now I get 31 channels where with an indoor one I got maybe 5.
