Insane laptop temperatures

I have a hp spectre x360 with an intel i7-7500u with 16gb of ram for school. I try to play cs go and my temperatures get to the low 90s within minutes, even with a laptop cooler. I've tried everything. I set the resolution to 720p and caped the fps to 60 and it still gets hot. My laptop is quite new. I understand that it's not a gaming laptop and that laptops get pretty hot, but cs go is not that graphically intensive and the temps are insane. What can I do to make this game run on my pc with less heat. Is cs go just really CPU intensive for a laptop or should I try a different game? Thanks! Also, I posted this earlier but I didn't think it went through so I apologize if this appears twice.

Lets narrow down your topic
Check: The bad Battery life takes a hit with the 4K display compared to high definition. The system runs a little hot.- FROM- https://www.cnet.com/products/hp-spectre-x360-13-inch-2017/review/
-Why do you use a 'cooler' in the first place?
-What is the system of temperature you mentioned? Metric/imperial; °C or °F?
-How old is it? Out of the warranty...

It's in C. It's 5 months old. Idle temps are in mid 40s which is good. The cooler was a gift from a friend to see if I can get gaming temps down. I don't need it for productivity though

I used HW monitor. The Max junction is 100 C. It get hot very quickly while running a game. I know that it's not a gaming laptop but 90 is quite high

I have an interesting idea. My old inspiron used to reach roughly 105 C and began thermal throttling. I used this

https://www.amazon.com/Opolar-Laptop-Temperature-Display-Cooling/dp/B01E3Q7FS6/ref=sr_1_24?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1502248437&sr=1-24&keywords=laptop+cooler

and attached it to the side and got temps down to low 80s. Then i realized nearly year later when I was older that I had to open up my pc and clean out the dust which hadnt been cleaned out in probably 3 years. Im sure this isnt your issue, but try the Opolar?

That's a good idea, but my intake is underneath the laptop

Oh, I see. That's a good idea. At that point it may not be worth it. The spectre is only like a milmeter above the ground. I'd need to have the cooler underneath for the ventilation. Adding one to the side sounds like overkill. Especially sense they can't be removed and applied many times very quickly. That is a good idea though

The surface on which you keep the laptop also makes it accumulate or suppress the heat faster. Is the high temperature only on gaming or does it extend to media playing, streaming of videos, internet browsing,...?

It's just gaming. If I'm watching Netflix it may get to like 50 which is still low. I just tried playing battlerite and it hit 87 in about 10 minutes on 720p on lowest setting with foe caped at 60

I actually never ended up using the little thing to keep it on my laptop 24/7 so yea it can be taken off and on quickly. And the underneath ventilation isn't mandatory if you have this thing on the side. You could always try it and return it if it's not what you want. They have a very generous return rate.
