Inspiron 1000

Before I throw my Inspiron 1000 to the trashcan, I want to know why it does not work anymore for not being used for a quite long time. Battery s good, but does not open on. When I plug in the adapter, the pilot light of the adapter barely lights and blinking. I checked the adapter and it's working fine. What seems to be the problem? Can anybody help me on this?

The Inspiron 1000 is a tricky computer because its one of the most unfriendly computer for techies as except the battery and the adapter, nothing else can be removed using normal tools
You gotta make a choice, either take it to a local tech to check whats the problem because sending it to and from Dell will be too expensive else jus trash it
