Installed incorrect battery

Solution
If your replacement battery 'fit' but had a different pinout from the original one, you likely fried the battery management circuitry and possibly some stuff beyond that. If you are lucky, you may only have blown current measurement shunts and power management FETs which should be relatively inexpensive parts to replace. If there are polarized caps on the battery rail, those may also have been compromised and need to be replaced. Expect to pay at least $100 in labor even for a trivial repair if you can't do it yourself.
