Hello good people of tom's hardware. My nc6000 had some problems relating to power but now it seems it wont enter windows environment. i was told that too many attempts to switch it on has led to the hard disc crashing. now i tried to reinstall windows but it wont work. Is it possible to take my hard disc to a friend and install windows on it using his laptop? Please advise...

If indeed your hard disk has crashed, then it wouldn't be able to load Windows(or any other operating system) regardless of what computer it is attached to. You need to replace it, under warranty if possible.

is it saying you hdd is failing when trying to load windows 7 now? but as far as using another system to load the os the hardware has to be very similar for it to work on your pc and would have to download the rest of the drivers you need. but if your hdd is shot buy a new one they are dirt cheap .
