Integrated graphics and RAM

I have a quick question on how VRAM for integrated graphics works. Does it leech off of regular RAM? I have noticed that games on steam that may require 512 MB of VRAM run better on my cruddy laptop if the rest of the game only uses a couple of GBs.

So I guess my real question is, if I upgrade the RAM in my laptop, then will it also increase graphics ability? Obviously new RAM can't do anything to increase the power of the graphics.

It mostly leeches off system ram. Some motherboards have dedicated ram, but most dont More ram will not increase ability except in colors and resolution.

OK. Thank you. So it won't be able to increase textures at all? At least until it reaches the limit of the power of the iGPU?

Frankly, I am not quite sure what the iGPU is in my laptop.

I know that I have an Asus K53E. It has an i5-2410M, 🙁, if that helps.

If you have 4 GB upgrade to 8 GB help some, but the iGPU is weak to play games in any high detail level.
