I have a Lenovo T430 that came with a Intel Centrino 2200. I would like to replace the 2200 for a Lenovo approved Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235 or better. Is his do able?
what part number do I need? and where do I buy?

Good day.

In the T430 FRU parts list: http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/t430_t430i_fru_bom_20130410.pdf

have a look at the CPU section and you'll see the options for the model. There appear to be an i5 and an i7 that would be a step up from your 3320, but whether you'd notice a difference in real-world computing, I couldn't say.

You may also wish to have a look at your hardware maintenance manual:

http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/t430_t430i_hmm_en_0b48304_03.pdf

Manual pages 100-101 detail removal / installation of the CPU, but there are a number of other parts that will need removing to accomplish the task.

Please note that the CPU is not considered an customer replacement unit (CRU), so that if something were to happen while you had the machine open, there could be a question whether the problem was caused by the process. This can make obtaining warranty service more challenging.

Regards.
