This is Much better than all Blank Space below comments, Price War Advertising is Newsworthy, too.
NEXT: Intel Got involved because term PRINTED Seemed to Have Something to do with Money. AMD got involved to Profit from direct billing of Telcos Potential, Two Differnt Companies. Seldom, if ever does Intel do anything NEW, If its' NEW, Its' IBM gift to impoverished greed horage.

AMD Barcelona is as NEW as NT6, year ago. Barcelona final revisions will propel AMD for Next Decade. Leaving intel little grey, After all duel cores can only go so far. AMDs'' TALKING Third Crossbar is like Katrina, Whjere'd they all Go? Engineers, that is!!!

AMD is going to take off, when? With $6 pricing, it might be while, yet when boom booms, its going to take off, with another 8X round in middle. Amd just isn't intrested in Buying Intel, after all, who'd even want punkie Tv remote chipmaker? Not even that good of TV remote Chips, more never look back philosophy that cranks out same mistakes forever. I wouldn't doubt if AMD Designed Conroe.

Wolfgang - you really should stay away from the financial analysis (AGAIN).

While 4P and 8P parts offer very good margins, do you have any idea how much actual revenue and profit comes from these segments? Hint: first think about how much server is, then think about the relatively small % 4P and 8P is of the server market as compared to 1P and 2P servers. Now take that really small # and multiple it by a healthy margin - it will still be a small #.

If you are going to do 'analysis' at least do some research first, instead of going with your gut and misinforming people. In Q4'07 server chips represented ~2% of AMD's unit volume or about 570,000 chips, now take that # and factor out 1P and 2P which is by far the majority of server sales.

4P and 8P do not 'pay the bills', heck with AMD not even ALL CPU sales are enough to 'pay the bills'
