Internet connecton on old vaio laptop

When i try to connect to wifi, my laptop says, "hardware radio switch off." Theres a wifi switch on the top of the keyboard, but turning it on or off changes nothing. What else can i try?

Could possibly be a Fn+"F# Key" combination that puts your laptop into some sort of airplane mode. Look at the F keys on the top of the keyboard for something that looks like an airplane or wifi.
