Internet explorer not working on pc windows 8.1

I load up my pc and the wifi is connected but when I try to open internet explorer it always comes up with the same message, 'internet explorer has stopped working'. I have tried disconnecting and connecting to the internet etc. Funnily enough my spotify and Skype are working. Any help?

From a different computer download the internet explorer program and copy to flash drive or dvd or other media.

Go to problem computer, uninstall internet explorer and reboot, then reinstall.


Or you could also just use firefox or Chrome and enjoy using a more secure and faster browser.

While I agree that firefox is a better and safer browser, go into control panel, internet options, advanced tab and hit the restore button as well as the rested button. Good luck!

are you by any chance using Norton? If so, you may have missed this recent development that is causing IE to crash

Is it working this morning, I had same problem last night. It seems okay now and more stable than before. Recently I was getting that message quite frequently, and it restore itself. Hopefully they have fixed the problem
