I'm looking into Sat DX'ing and FTA......I've looked at Fortec and numerous
other receivers, but stumbled upon this combo.Yeah I know its low end but
does anyone have any comments good or bad on this.
FreeVu DCD2000 fta receiver w/30" winegard dish & lnb , its listed for 249
Canadian!
I would prefer a 36-40 inch dish and from what I can gather its a linear LNB
single.
Do you think this will be good/fun to start with or am I headed for
disappointment.

Unless you want some aggrivation, or can affor the aggrivation, try to
get the make/model of receivers that others use.

Yeah, you,re probably right. The Fortecs seem to be the most popular!
Same old same old,you get what you pay for.
What would you suggest to start up with? With a view to add or upgrade to in
the future.
I will most likely start with a fixed dish and move it manualy, and then as
funds allow get a
motor etc....

Oh yeah,,
I would love to be able to get any British feeds ie BBC1-5 or the like.
From what I can tell this is probably unlikely on any Atlantic Bird.
But has anyone found them on any others??

Those BBC channels are exclusively for the British Isles, so you will
never catch them on other that birds that serve the Isles.

Your only hope is Internatioalised BBC channels, or ones made for
particular countries, which so far are mostly encrypted.
