Android has solved the update issue with updates through the Play Store. As for "full" OS updates, older iPhones don't get those. They get the newest update in name, but many features are chopped.

Are some Android manufacturers less than ideal in terms of their update promises? Yes, but the idea that Android is so far behind Apple in this regard is a pretty lazy narrative at this point. Honestly, this is a 2012 headline.
