I'm pretty disappointed with the camera on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I assumed that the first unit that I had was defective and returned it for a replacement. The second one has the same issue, so I think it's an iPhone 12 Pro Max 'feature'.

Most photos are incredible, but low light photos with bright light sources create ghost images of the lights on the image. Sometimes it's really bad and ruins the photo. For a camera with such amazing night time potential, it really sucks. It's the most disappointed that I've ever been with an Apple product.

I had the same issue with the iPhone 11 Pro Max, returned it after a few days because it bugged me a lot. Sadly, it seems like Apple just uses sub-par anti-reflective coating in its phones, and reviewers tend not to call them out on it. It happens on other phones and cameras, sure, but it's waaaay less pronounced.
