Solved! Iphone 3g shows headset is connected when it isnt

Please help
iphone 3g shows headset is connected when it is not. I have tried to plug it in and out but it still shows it is connected to the headset.

Perhaps the cache isn't clearing. Have you tried restarting the phone?

That can happen if some moisture is involved. I have a similar problem with a Nokia E72 and even a small amount can cause this exact intermittent fault.
