iPhone 3GS Encryption Said to be 'Useless'

it's a toy, don't use it for important things.

Best part for apple bashers is the fact that they tried to encrypt it and screwed up.

Those Apple programmers have gotten too comfy. Programmers who create software that's routinely bombarded with viruses turn into good programmers. Or else.

This is why you'll never see the iPhone used in the mass business market. I'm not even sure how it gets compared to a blackberry or even a Palm Pre in that regard.

So, has anyone hacked into Steves phone yet?

It is good for Apple to be in MS shoes, maybe they learn a bit or two about how hard you have to work when you are the target. Maybe better products will rise from that.

[citation][nom]Rab1d-BDGR[/nom]"Apple's iPhone is the smartphone that has the consumer market more empowered than ever with convenient access to the internet. "Why is it that reports about apple products always have to sound like marketing? ...Even in an article about how they screwed up.[/citation]
Probably because it's true...the iPhone puts then net right in your hand. Give them some credit.

Open the floodgates! Apple haters rejoice! Something not perfect from Apple!

Seriously... isn't everyone tired of this yet? I'm not an Apple fanboy, nor am I a windows or linux fanboy. I just use what's right for me for a reasonable price.

This horse is so beaten that I can't even tell it's a horse anymore....

iPhone gives some users a heightened sense of social status. Without the phone, they are nothing. With the phone, they are everything! I may go buy an Iphail right now!

Honestly, what do you expect from a company who says their Macbooks and Imacs don't need protection because they are super safe and their OS is super secure (yet first hacked every year in the security competition).... Gimme a break!! People are so naive!!

He's probably smart enough to use a Blackberry! haha!!

i'm really not fussed on Apple as a company. They charge obscene amounts of money for last-gen technology. They get away with it because of their quick OS.
The only reason their so big is because of the iPod. and have you seen the price of an iPod Touch? 8GB costs £160!!!!1WTF!!!!!
The iPhone only interests me because of apps, and because i want a new mp3 and phone so i may as well get all three together.

The "because of quick OS" was a joke, right?
They get away with it (and other insane restrictions) because of the glamurous hype surrounding any pice of hardware from Mr Jobbs.

There are quicker, sleeker and cheaper smartphones (Samsung S8000)/mediaplayers (Sony Walkman) out there. They just don't get into the hype spot.

Blackberry's network is an unreliable joke. Windows 7 isn't stable or fast enough everyday use. Apple isn't anything great but at least they work. I have had all three and while Apple is missing some features and rather restrictive it is by far the fastest and most stable. You have to realize that first and foremost it just has to work and work reliably.

Yet again...appalled by the amount of Apple bashing. Shut up for once. I'm not a fanboi of either, I've owned Macs and liked them, but I have a gaming PC and I prefer it for what I do. But honestly, leave the goddamn company alone, just because their products don't suit you doesn't mean it's not perfect for anyone else.
That's like buying piece of clothing and writing a really shitty review because you bought the wrong size and it was too small.

@Clove, I paid $209 for my iPod Touch, and I don't regret it at all. Awesome for Music, some apps are just for fun, and it doubles as a mouse/remote for my computer through WiFi. (AirMouse Pro) I don't see what's so obscene about it.
