I recently purchased an iriver h120 20gb mp3 player on ebay-brand new, in box. However, I live in the U.S. and they sent me what appears to be a European adapter. It is rated at input 100-240V ~50/60 Hz 350mA and output is 5V-2A.

I purchased a Universal AC adapter that goes from 3-12V at 1300mA max. It has settings for 3V, 4.5V, 6V, 7.5V, 9V, and 12V. So the problem is, before I open this adapter, which setting should I put it on? 4.5V? Or does it have to be an exact 5V output since this is what the mp3 player says? I do not want to fry my player!
Also, as far as polarity goes, the device has a symbol with a minus sign connected to a C connected to a + sign, in that order. Does that mean that it is positive polarity? Please help!

Well, I opened the ac adapter from Wal-mart and I set it to positive polarity. Then, I selected the proper tip that worked and set the output voltage to 4.5V (even though it calls for 5V on the mp3 player). This worked great and charged the player completely and did no damage. I think this is safe, since I did not use a higher voltage than required (ex. If I were to use the 6V setting, I'm afraid that would have had disastrous effects!).

Hope this helps others.
