I used to think so to. I am a 3 year user of a RoombaS9+ and initially it was great. Now its a complete pain. It gets lost, it gets stuck, it complains of cliffs where there are none, its really noisy and, generally, fails to do the job. Some of those things would be fixed by better engineering, and some by sofware updates, but the former is not possible and it looks like IRobot won't be doing the latter. And here in Australia the Roomba support is both slow and feeble and reqiures expensive postage. And, here it costs more than twice as much as it does in the US, so replacement has a high bar. So I just have to keep making this thing work. I wonder if IRobot is becoming the Boeing of vacuums.
