Is 128 MB RAM enough in smartphone?

Hi, Is 128 MB RAM enough for smart phone that is going to be used for basic surfing and basic email etc? I am thinking of buying a nokia smart phone and it contains only 128 MB RAM but the people who already bought this product have praised it heavily for its great internet speed, so is 128 MB RAM sufficient for basic web experience ( browsing and email) on a smart phone? Thanks!

It depends on the OS, but generally the answer is no. If you want a Nokia device, look at the N900 and the N9. Both are great devices.

The OS is series 40, an old one, and when i read the users feedback on this mobile phone they seem to be extremely happy with the internet speed and they praise it highly. it contains 1 GH processor of series 40 and 128 MB RAM, 3G, Wifi etc. in fact majority of the users of this particular nokia smart phone make it a point to praise its internet connection abilities and they seem to be extremely delighted at the speed with which they can use the internet? Do you agree with their feedback? is it possible their feedback is biased? I am thinking of using it mainly because it has qwerty keypad too, Thanks!
