is cmos battery depends on main battery capacity?

I have compaq presario cq61 and battery capacity is very low about 20min. On startup it alert me primary battery is low. so i search on hp website primary battery is cmos battery. so i have dout what is the problem. is this cmos battery problem or secondary battery? I asked that cmos battery depends on the main battery capacity?

The CMOS battery is only there to keep your BIOS settings and has nothing to do with your laptop battery.

If your system is about two years old, it is time to change the laptop battery.

The alert is regarding your removable, lithium battery. Operating systems generally do not keep track of the CMOS battery status, only the rechargeable.

You can probably find a replacement lithium battery for around $10 - $20, not including any tax and shipping & handling fees that may apply.
