Is it a good time to buy a laptop right now?

Hey everyone!

Like the title says, is it really a good time to buy a good laptop now? Heard that prices drop at the end of November. Also I'm not really in a hurry to buy a laptop, I can wait till Jan. Price range is from 70000 Indian Rupees to 80000 (approx 1000$ ~ 1250$)

I actually waiting for GTX 1060m equipped laptops to become more affordable because they are pretty pricey atm. So will it become any cheaper later on (till Jan at least) and what about GTX 1050m?

What do you guys think?

I don't think the 1060 will get cheaper but you might get some deals if you wait. My best suggestion is you wait. The 1050 is supposed to be cheaper but you will have to wait for the price.

The problem about waiting is, am guessing because the 1060 is the latest&greatest, but by the time it drops in price, there will be a 1070 and then you ask this same question again.

Don't know where you are but Nov in the U.S. you do get some discounts, but not on top models, they are selling you the popular models, the ones that people have "sensible" budgets are looking for.

It's very unlikely laptops with the GTX 1060 will get cheaper anytime soon.

Prices for laptops with the GTX 960m have been pretty stable since they were released. For example, the Dell Inspiron 15 i7559 debuted at around $800, it has taken several months for the price to "drop" to $770 excluding any sales.

The problem with the waiting game is that something better is always going to be in the works. I would see if what you can get now or soon delivers the performance you are acceptable with.

Well if 1060 is out of question then I can settle for 1050/1050. I can wait till Jan or Feb max. Assuming that it's priced around 1000$~1200$ and which are a lot better than 950m/960m, so I think it's worth waiting for but I want your opinion guys. I live in India btw.
