Is it good to insert li ion battery

My phone specs have Li polymer battery and now its bloated.
So I replace a new one with Li ion battery, and it does not turn on.
Help pls.

It could be the battery, especially if the specs of the two are different at all. It could also be that the phone got damaged when the original battery got damaged.
