Is it okay to delete .android_secure folder off SD card if I am not using it in an android phone anymore?

I have an SD Card that I got with my old Android phone that I now use in a Windows Phone. On the SD Card however there is a folder called .android_secure folder that the Android OS put on the SD Card. Is it okay to delete that folder? (I will never use it in an android phone and it appears to only have app backups in it.)
