Is it possible to install a disk onto a laptop that has no disk drive?

I am looking at two laptops of the exact same model, only one has 16GB RAM, 755M and a DVD drive while the other has 8GB RAM, 755M SLI and no disk drive (has the second chip instead). That second GPU will be a real difference maker when gaming (I could go for a PC but it's far less convenient for me so don't bother) but I already have a lot of physical games so will I need to get Steam or is it possible to get that data onto a USB?

You could always go pick up a USB disc drive, you could pick one up for ~35 dollars. Alternatively, there's always a USB blu-ray drive, although thise go for about ~100 dollars. Much easier than installing your own.
