Question Is it safe to install android 12 on unsupported mobile device?

Hi.
I have a 2018 Nokia smartphone, precisely Nokia 8.1. It came with android 9 and got an official update for 11, but I wish to install android 12 on it. The Hardware is pretty capable, I guess, to support it. After all, some lower-range smartphones got an official update for 12 despite being weaker from the hardware perspective.

So is it safe for me to go ahead and download android 12? what will be the issues? Will it be worth the Hassel?
