Is my computer adequate for blender?

My specs:
I7-7700 3.60GHz
16GB of RAM
NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB
Corsair H100i v2 liquid cooler

I've recently taken an interest in 3D rendering and animation since I've gotten my new computer. I've played around with the Blender app a little bit and my CPU load and fan spikes rapidly when rendering even small images. I'm completely new to this type of software. Is this normal and could it hurt my CPU or anything? My temps don't go over 60C.

Of course, you will be fine Keep monitoring CPU/GPU temp, as long as <85 Celcius, you are good.
