I check the simcard slot and it doesn't have gpp chip. It is also updated to ios13.6.1. Can i safely update it to ios 14?

That model is compatible with IOS 14 but if you don't have issues with the version it's running now no real need to change it. Newer versions may run slower than one would like on older devices.
