Is Sshd in a Compaq presario f500 worth it??

I’m not looking to drop big bucks on a ssd so I’m thinking about a 5400 rpm 500gb sshd or a 7200 rpm 1tb mechanical hard drive . My deciding factor is whether or not the sshd will speed up boot time and read write speeds as opposed to a 7200 rpm mechanical hard drive. They’ll cost me the same either way. Which should I choose????

That system is ancient. The system bus will severely hold you back. I would not bother with the SSHD, any gains you have will be minimal and offset by the dog slow CPU.
