Is the Alienware 15r2 good? If so where should I get it from?

Hey guys,
I am getting a new gaming laptop in a month. I am thinking of getting the alienware 15 r2. I've seen other people complain about the temperatures of the laptop and that it sometimes becomes laggy. Are these true? Should I get another laptop, preferably around the same price and specs, or should I stick to the r2? If so which one should I get?
I live in India and will be visiting Dubai at around the same time I'm planning to buy the system. I want to know whether I should buy it from India or from Dubai. Will I get some extra perks or at a reduced price if I buy it from Dubai or should I just get it in India?

Also could you recommend a good gaming mouse and headset?
Thanks!

Those arent true, but right now is not a good time to buy, anything you do will rapidly become obselete especially with Pascal coming out some time this year, meaning new mobile chips. I really would wait.

Hi there,

I have previously owned an Alienware 15 R2 and all i can say is don't go anywhere near it. I honestly can say i will never go near a Dell/Alienware product again.

I paid $2,500 for the laptop and expected exceptional performance and reliability (as you would paying that much), and all i got was a very disappointing laptop that had the worst reliability ever. I had it for only 6 months and that was it for me.

In the first 2 months, 7 letters on the keyboard stopped working. So i called Dell support up and they sent a tech out a few days later and he found the keyboard was faulty. So he replaced the keyboard. THEN, 4 months down the track, all of sudden my computer wont turn on at all. It is always hooked up to the charger so i knew it could not have a flat battery. So then i contacted Dell support yet again and they sent another tech out a few days later. He informed me the motherboard was fried and needed to be replaced. So he replaced the motherboard and that night i went home, backed up my laptop onto an external hard drive and lodged a claim with Dell for a full refund. My claim was successful and i was granted a full refund.

The laptop (when it worked) was a very fast, great performing laptop. Never had any software issues. It was extremely quick and could handle anything you threw at it. And i must say that the Dell Pro Support team were very helpful and very quick to respond. My laptop came with 1 year warranty and it had already had 2 major hardware failures withing 6 months. So i thought to myself, if 2 major hardware parts have failed in 6 months, what else is going to fail over the next 6 or even 12 months when it will be out of warranty then? So i made the decision to refund it and i believe i made the right decision.

I previously owned a Lenovo laptop and that lasted me 7 years with no hardware failures at all until finally it gave up.

Up to you if you want to take the risk. I might of been just really unlucky but i doubt it...
