try plugging it into other computers, phones, etc. and see if it suffers from the same issue. If it does, then it's probably a static issue. But from a software side it's pretty much impossible for a piece of software to determine this.
If you have a GSM phone nearby, move it. problem solved
Last time I saw this question on THG, that was the problem.
isn't static different from interference? I mean I know phones can interfere with speakers but I had no idea to that extent, guess you learn something new every day
