Solved! Is there a way to record in 1080p even if my monitor has a lower resolution?

Hi everyone. Sorry if it's not the best place to ask but I have a problem.

The thing is that I bought a new PC in order to play games and start a YouTube channel. However, at this moment I don't have money for a monitor and I'm gonna use an old one until I am able to buy something new. There is a problem though, the monitor resolution is 1680x1050 and I want to record in FULL HD. Is there a way to record in 1080p even if my monitor has a lower resolution? I don't mind if I can't see full hd while playing, cause obviously I can't add physical pixels but I wonder if I can record in a bigger resolution than my screen has, I want to have a good video quality.

Solution
I can't set the resolution of a game higher than my screen.

There is usually an option to do this, usually called resolution scaling, virtual super resolution, something like that. But if for some reason the game won't let you set it any different, you will be recording what it's set at.
