Is this a good college tablet?

Really budget friendly and has some really nice features. I've never owned a tablet though, so anything will be appreciated

The screen resolution isn't exactly top notch. But I have a 7" tablet with the same 1280x800 res, and it is adequate. Just curious: I understand the usefulness of a laptop for a college student, but what would a tablet be used for?

For my textbooks, they are all offered electronically

Its good if you don't mind the low resolution and assuming your not much of a gamer. You could look for the nexus 7. Either generations will be ok for general use.

I have a Nexus 5 phone, so yea. Pretty bored of stock android and there custom roms

You could look at win 8 laptops but I am not sure which one is best in the budget area as I don't own one
