Is that a good laptop? how long will it be able to play games for? Could it play bf3 and watch dogs at ultra or high setting? is that gpu better than the m290x? Could it run skyrim at ultra with a ton of graphics mods?

Ultra settings? No. It's not a bad laptop, but that price is way unreasonable.

You would be so much better off with an MSI GT60 Dominator for way cheaper.

You would have plenty of cash left in your budget to put in a Samsung 840 Evo SSD for fast load/startup/save times as well.

You would get a considerably higher quality build, better performance, and way more features with what I linked than the lesser GE60. Not sure why that GE60 is priced that high either, you can get them Here for cheaper.

It is but doesn't the U.S. have different power cord connectors?
